The turning point came in stages.
One day in the most toxic relationship, something broke open.
His behaviour crossed a line inside me, and I suddenly saw the truth...If I don't leave now, I can see where this is heading.
I left, but leaving didn't give me self-worth.
I immediately fell into another relationship with someone safe, familiar, someone who I believed would never hurt me.
It lasted four years.
It was kind, stable, gentle.
But it wasn't aligned, and he wasn't my person.
I hadn't fought my way out of chaos just to settle for "good enough" with a person who didn't want the same things in life as me.
When that relationship ended, my confidence and self esteem was still very low.
I didn't trust myself.
My choices got worse.
I dated men who weren't my type, didn't match my values, and made me question why everyone around me had healthy relationships while I felt like I was drifting further from the marriage and family I wanted.
A brief relationship finally woke me up.
I looked at him and thought, This is not the future I want.
How have I ended up here again?
That was my true rock bottom not heartbreak, but the realisation that I no longer trusted myself to choose love that was good for me.
That was the moment I chose to change everything.
I invested in real coaching the kind that forces you to turn inward, not outward.
The first truth I discovered was simple and confronting.
I wasn't attracting unhealthy relationships because I was broken or there was something wrong with me.
I was attracting them because I didn't love myself.
I had even googled, how do you love yourself?
That's how far from myself I'd drifted.
